Houston Methodist · Pathway to Unparalleled · Year One Films
A proposed approach to the 2027 films for the Pathway to Unparalleled Employee Learning Experience, prepared for Korn Ferry by Lensea Film in partnership with HatchMark Studio.
×HatchMark StudioTreatment · November 202601 · Where we are
Every year, Houston Methodist's leaders choose the themes, and its people bring them to life through the Pathway to Unparalleled Employee Learning Experience. In each 60- to 90-minute workshop, four or five short films run, and after each one the room talks about what they just heard and what it means for their own teams.
That makes the job specific. These films aren't the message; they're the prompt. They need to land fast, feel true, and leave space for the room to talk.

02 · The approach
No scripts, no actors, no reading lines. Korn Ferry and leadership set the stories up front, and we go find them inside real conversations.
Destyn sits across from every subject and interviews them conversationally, following the outline and staying curious about what comes up. People who aren't trained spokespeople need someone to talk to. When they have one, they stop performing and start telling you what happened.
The outline is the map. The conversation is where the story is.
03 · How a film is built
Each film is built around a single theme and woven from two to four voices: a short voice-over frame, a leader who names the value, then the people who live it every day. A physician, a nurse, someone in transport or facilities.
04 · The look
One interview set, two cameras, the same frame for every subject, so a CEO and a transporter sit in the same light and carry the same weight.
The look is high-key and clean, true to the Houston Methodist brand, with nothing that feels like an ad. Captions go on every master because these films play in rooms of every size.

05 · B-roll
The fastest way to lose a room is a talking head followed by someone walking slowly down a corridor. Our B-roll goes where the work happens: hands, rounds, handoffs, the details each subject talks about.
Running a dedicated B-roll camera alongside the interviews means coverage doesn't steal interview time. Everything we shoot also becomes a library Houston Methodist can use beyond the workshops, for recruitment, internal comms, and onboarding.
06 · Sharper delivery
Houston Methodist knows what works, and we're not here to reinvent it. We'll look for the small improvements that make the films hit harder.
Shorter cuts give the discussion more of the hour.
Every film carries a single idea, told by consistent voices.
The narrator opens the door and lets the people walk through it.
Captioned, accessible masters wherever the workshop runs.
07 · On site
One Houston location, two consecutive days, about eight conversations a day, with B-roll running alongside. Korn Ferry watches every interview live on a client monitor with headphones, and at the end of each one we pause and ask together: do we have what we need? Then we move on. Nothing gets discovered missing in the edit.
